Etching on Italia Magnani paper, 1968, with full margins, titled, dated and inscribed 'H.C. 1/3' (the edition was 7), signed 'Annalee G. Newman' and dated 'October 17, 1978' on the reverse, with the ULAE blindstamp. 20 x 14 in. (sheet), 21 x 15 in. (frame). Note: Ashton was good friends with Barnett Newman and his wife Annalee. After the artist's death in 1970, Ashton continued to see Annalee on a regular basis, offering her support and friendship during her period of grieving. Annalee gave this etching to Ashton as a 'thank you'.

Condition:A pale foxmark in the right margin; otherwise in excellent condition.
