Two Italian Giltwood and Velvet Torchères, Probably Venetian

5 ft. 5 1/2 in. x 13 1/2 x 13 1/2 in. (floor torchère).

8 ft. 5 in. x 12 x 12 in. (pole torchère).

Provenance:The floor torchère sold An Estate from Hillsborough, NC, Leland Little Auctions, Hillsborough, NC, December 1, 2007, Lot 150. The pole torchère sold The Great American Auction, Poughkeepsie, NY, November 21, 2008, Lot 388.

Condition:

The floor torchère in good overall condition with minor nicks, losses to the gilding and age splits throughout. The pole torchère with carved losses to the lantern with age cracks and nicks to the gilded surface, the pole is worn with gilding chips. Formerly electrified. Will need a stand to be secure. Fitted with later slag glass.
